The Big Hike

Devils Lake has sizable cliffs on either side of it.  Our hike took place on the west side of the lake.  We took the top trail from the North to the South end of the lake, then hiked back along the shoreline.

           

                   

Vultures keep an eye out for scouts who ended up getting just a little too close to the ledge.

The view from just about everywhere was breathtaking.

           

The ropes you see are connected to climbers below.

           

Several of these photos were taken looking straight down.

           

Nearly the whole trail was paved with a narrow strip of asphalt.

               

           

Somewhere behind Mr. D. are a dozen scouts in the rocks.
