Troop met at airport terminal.

We stopped at security and waited for Mr. Maude’s bag to be searched.

The flight left Chicago at approximately 9:30 AM. 

We arrived at Richmond, VA, at approximately noon local time.

We arrived at the York River Yacht Club and received a brief orientation on camp.

We then had our gear checked to make sure we had everything we needed and nothing we weren’t supposed to have.

We met Captain Adam.  When the orientation was complete we carried our gear to the boat.  Upon arrival we got an orientation on the boat.  We learned the following terms:

Port - Starboard - Bow - Aft - Mast - Beam - Sail - Jib - Helm - Head

                   

Once gear was stored, we took the swim test.  Everyone passed.

Following the swim test we were briefed on daily duties and then went to a cookout for dinner.

We are on a 38-foot Morgan Sailboat named, “Bay Explorer.”
