Springfield 2004

While we stayed at a different campground, this is not the first time Troop 374 took this trip.  Each year the local council in Springfield hosts the Lincoln Pilgrimage.  Saturday morning the troop explored downtown Springfield.

Then they headed back to the campsite and enjoyed a game of football (in the drizzle) in an adjacent open field.

Sunday morning the troop packed up camp and headed down to the cemetery where Lincoln's Tomb is located.  The troop was given an assignment to find the graves of many famous people.  It turned out to be an interesting history lesson.

Later on, after a late lunch, all of the troops convened in front of Lincoln's Tomb for a presentation by politicians.
