Saturday Morning

It dropped down into the 30s Friday night.  One scout smiles as he chugs his hot chocolate.

The scouts knew that they had a long day awaiting them.  They all pitched in and prepared a delicious breakfast of French toast and sausages.

We then headed up for some announcements, songs and raising of the Colors.

Part of the TFC ranch is mowed.  Other parts, including the area close to the river, are left to grow naturally.

Mr. Brunton is busy planning the evening campfire program.

Meanwhile, the scouts are off to the competition.  Top on the agenda first was the Iron Aid First Aid.  The scouts constructed a stretcher from scratch to carry a patient to safety with.  Then came the Iron Rope knot tying competition.

The next stop was over at one of the barn areas for the Iron Car Competition.  A pinewood derby track was set up and each patrol was given one pinewood derby kit and twenty minutes construct a fast, good looking car.  Besides having good results, they watched to see which patrols were involving all of their scouts.
