Extra-Extra, we’re here to help! Publicity tips and tools.
A well-publicized and well-timed relief drive will increase total donations. It’s simple—there are lots of people just like you who want to help but sometimes don’t know how. So, when a crisis hits and people want to help, get out there Fast!
We’ve made Newsletters for Schools, Flyers for the Neighborhood, Flyers for Manned Retail Collection Points, Church Bulletins, Troop and Church Speeches that you can edit and change to fit your relief drive. If you want to create your own posters, flyers and announcements we recommend a Poster Party at your house and watch the creative ideas pour out. We did and the team turned out real nice posters; it was fun too!
After having the pre-committed dates and times set up for running the drive it’s the best time to get the some volunteers. Once the publicity gets into high gear, ask and keep asking ‘till it hurts. Ask at your School / Work, Church, Troop meetings or where ever you see people. Keep an organized list of names and time slots. Write phone numbers next to names so you can easily make reminder calls. (And you’ll want to make reminder calls. Some people I called completely forgot they signed up for anything.)
