Officer of the Deck – NM

Helmsman – JW

We stopped for fuel and left port about 9:45 AM. As we motored out in the channel we unfolded the main sail and turned off the engine.  It was very quiet and our rate of speed did not change.

JW did a great job at the helm.

Before we rotated job responsibilities and ate lunch we found ourselves traveling at 7.0 knots.  Captain Adam indicated this was the fastest he had ever gone in this boat.

We continued sailing and ate lunch.  After lunch we rotated jobs.

Officer of the Deck – DD

Helmsman – HS

We continued sailing through the early afternoon. This sailing required us to tack.  This was a new skill that we never really quite mastered.

HS was an awesome helmsman; he seemed to have a knack for this.

We stopped for the night tonight at Salt Ponds Marina.

After dinner of spaghetti everyone took showers (we were all very sweaty and dirty) and took it easy for the rest of the evening.  We were all pretty tired.

There were a few cases of sunburn and some blisters but no serious injuries.
