The Eagle Project of Jay P. Hofner

Between Lincoln Ave and Jewell Road is a long stretch of the Illinois Prairie Path.  For his Eagle Project, Jay Hofner built a rest area along that path so hikers & bikers could take a break and enjoy one of the most scenic views along the path.

Looking toward the structure from the west (across the pond).

Besides information about the marsh, the commemorative plaque shows the date the structure was completed and who led the Eagle Project.
