Donny Cook Eagle Ceremony
Sunday, March 12th at 2 PM. St. John, the Baptist in Winfield IL
Mr. Byam puts the finishing touches on the script and leads the rehearsal.
All Eagle Scouts present pose outside the church.
The parents help with the refreshment table.
The Ceremony begins just after 2 PM.
Troop 374 Eagle Scout (now Chairman of the Troop 374 Committee) begins lead Donny in the Eagle Scout Oath.
A number of scouts interrupt (by design) and ask the Chairman if the requirements have been fulfilled. Everything is in good order.
Donny takes the Eagle Oath.
His mother pins the Eagle Medal to Donny's left pocket flap.
(Donny suddenly lurches forward, in obvious pain, apparently jabbed by the pin. Donny then smiles. Everyone realizes that Donny is kidding.)
The Eagle's Mother reads a beautiful poem.
A very beautiful and graceful Eagle Dance is performed.
After receiving a standing ovation, the ceremony is dismissed. The reception begins.
During the celebration, the food and the fellowship were great.
Everyone hopefully had a chance to see the beautiful shrine that was created with proof of a long enjoyable scouting experience for Donny.
