BB Eagle Ceremony

2 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2006

The weather was beautiful.  This is a moment that Brian and his family have been looking forward to.  Eighty friends, family and scouts attended.

The Ceremony

Because Brian has been so involved in the Order of the Arrow, an OA theme was adopted for the ceremony.

Brian's father pins the Eagle Medal onto Brian's uniform.

Eagle Scout Pat Neal, our Troop 374 committee chairman, then gives Brian the Eagle Charge.

Paraphrased: "Brian, I welcome you to the brotherhood of Eagle Scouts.  Only 2% of scouts complete this journey.  While your past accomplishments are great, I now speak of your future.  As an Eagle Scout, you will be recognized as a doer, standing as an equal among leaders.  You now know what you are capable of accomplishing.  You will have opportunities to be of service to others, at school, work, and through Scouting.  In the years to come, as you will meet other Eagles, there will be an instant bond of comradeship. For you have each shared a common experience. You each know the other can be trusted, as a friend and as a brother Scout. The comradeship among Eagles extends throughout the nation, yes even around the world. For the rest of your life Scout, Brian, you travel as a marked man, an Eagle Scout!"

Brian is presented with numerous awards and plaques.

The Reception

Troop 374 likes to celebrate at every Court of Honor.  Great food and fellowship was enjoyed by all after the ceremony.
